Three questions, five answers: the servers worth joining right now, scored on how fresh the wipe is, whether a wipe starts inside the time you have, population, and how trustworthy the schedule is. Results are live and change as wipes land.

How the picks are scored
Freshness first: a wipe in the last hour scores highest, falling off over 12 hours. A scheduled wipe starting inside your window scores almost as high, being there at the start beats a 5-hour-old map. Then population (with a penalty for queues you can't get through), a bonus for owner-declared schedules, a penalty for wipes that are overdue but not seen, and a fit bonus: fast-rate servers when you only have an hour or two. Aim-train and arena servers are excluded; so are servers ranked below 6,000.

What is the best time to join a Rust server?
Within the first one to three hours after a wipe: everyone starts equal, the map is full and nobody has raided yet. The next best moment is right when a scheduled wipe lands, shown here as "be there at the start".
Why isn't my favourite server in the list?
Either it isn't fresh (wiped more than a day ago with no wipe coming inside your window), it has a long queue, it's an arena/aim server, or its schedule is overdue. Star it on the board to get alerts for its next wipe instead.
